Eagle Food Centers, which owns and operates supermarkets in Illinois and Iowa, announced late last week that the bankruptcy court confirmed the sale of certain Eagle stores. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Albertsons plans to acquire five Eagle Food stores in Dixon, Geneseo, Morris, New Lenox and Peru, Ill. The transaction is expected to close on Sept. 29.
The Kroger Co. plans to purchase six Eagle Food stores in Decatur, Lincoln, Ottawa, Rockford (two) and Sterling, Ill. Three of the deals are expected to close on Sept. 22, the remaining three transactions are expected to close on Sept. 29.
Butera Finer Foods is snapping up three stores Lindenhurst, Naperville and St. Charles, Ill. The deal is expected to close Sept. 19.
J.B. Sullivan acquired a store in Freeport, Ill., on Sept. 12.
Supermercado El Guero De Aurora is acquiring a store in Aurora, Ill. The transaction is expected to close on Sept. 16.
SVT is purchasing two stores in Kankakee and Watseka, Ill. The deals are expected to close on Sept. 29 and 17, respectively.
In addition, Harold E. Wisted is acquiring an Eagle Food store in Woodstock, Ill. The deal is expected to close on Sept. 30.
Eagle Food Centers has extended the bid deadline for its remaining 21 stores and its infrastructure to Sept. 17.
