A&F opens first flagship store
DSN Retailing Today
Tuesday, November 8, 2005

Abercrombie & Fitch opened its first flagship today on New York's Fifth Avenue.

The 36,000-square foot location is larger than any of the other stores in the chain and could potentially be the brand's top-volume unit, according to reports. The store, which has four-levels of selling space, is expected to generate approximately $40 million in annual sales, given its high profile location at the former Fendi site, on the northwest corner of 56th Street, reports say.

The Fifth Avenue location is the first flagship for the retailer, which also has announced plans to open other flagships in Los Angeles and Las Vegas in 2006. The company will also open its first international location in London in 2007.

The Fifth Avenue location will make Abercrombie's 352nd U.S. store location.
