Home Diagnostics on Tuesday launched its TrackRecord Data Management Software, an electronic diabetes management system that enables people with diabetes, and the health care professionals who treat them, to better understand how various lifestyle and behavior choices impact blood glucose levels.
TrackRecord DMS allows users to download blood glucose readings directly from a Home Diagnostics meter to a personal computer.
The software compiles data, which include demographics, insurance information, medications, testing regimen recommendations and results histories, and develops five comprehensive easy-to-read reports:
Log Book Report–Reviews glucose readings over specific times and periods of seven, 14 or 30 days.
Conformance Report–Displays pre- and post-meal glucose results in a color-coded pie chart format and details the percentage of results that are within, above or below the target range.
Glucose Trend Report-An easy-to-read line graph that shows glucose results during a customized period.
Extended Log Book Report–Color-coded entries quickly inform the patient of out-of-range results, glucose levels pre- and post-meals, and more.
Summary Report–A snapshot of the logbook, trend reports and conformance report all in one comprehensive page.
The reports can be formatted to include the patient's individualized glucose targets, and viewed at various time and date intervals, the company stated.
“While daily monitoring of blood glucose levels is a relatively simple process, extracting the meaning of the data can be a challenge,” stated Richard Damron Jr., president and chief executive officer of Home Diagnostics. “TrackRecord DMS is designed to give patients and medical professionals the tools to achieve target blood glucose levels by helping them understand how lifestyle and behavior patterns can affect their blood glucose. With this information patients can make better choices in daily activities and maintain a healthier course in their diabetes management.”
TrackRecord DMS is designed for use with Home Diagnostics' blood glucose meters, including TrueTrack and Prestige IQ. TrackRecord also will be compatible soon with TRUEread, the most recent addition to the Home Diagnostics meter family.
