Tractor Supply Co. said Tuesday that William Bass will join the company's board of directors.

Bass is co-founder and CEO of apparel retailer Fair Indigo. He also held management positions with Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Lands' End Inc.

Tractor Supply Co. operates 738 stores in 40 states.
